Boonmee, a man dying of kidney failure, returns to the countryside of north-eastern Thailand to spend his last days among those close to him. At dinner he is visited by the ghost of his late wife Huay and by his long-lost son Boonsong, now a monkey spirit, and he finally leads the family to a hilltop cave where he says his first life began. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.

بونمی، مردی بیمار که از نارسایی کلیه رو به مرگ است، به روستایی در شمال شرقی تایلند بازمی‌گردد تا واپسین روزهایش را در کنار نزدیکانش بگذراند. سر میز شام، روح همسر درگذشته‌اش هوای و پسر گمشده‌اش بونسونگ که به هیئت روح میمون درآمده به دیدارش می‌آیند، و او سرانجام خانواده را به غاری بر فراز تپه می‌برد که می‌گوید زندگی نخستینش از آنجا آغاز شده است. فیلم در جشنوارهٔ کن ۲۰۱۰ نخل طلا گرفت.
