About this work
eremos is an album by the Iranian composer and sound artist Siavash Amini, released on 27 October 2023 by American Dreams and mastered by Lawrence English. The title is a Greek adjective meaning uninhabited or desert-like. In four long electronic and electroacoustic pieces, Amini draws on two passages from Ibn Sina's allegorical tale Hayy ibn Yaqdhan: one on space, desolation, life and non-life, the other on light, darkness and transcendence. The American poet and philosopher Eugene Thacker wrote a short text for the release.
