About this work

According to the Mehr Theatre Group website, a man visits his wife, a political prisoner, once a week; watched by cameras and bugged, their conversations grow ever more distant. At her insistence he agrees to guide a young blind woman in a running race in Paris, and the two must find a shared rhythm as they train. As Caroline Cao notes in New York Theatre Guide, the young woman lost her sight in the crackdown on a protest. After the race a new plan emerges: to run the 38 kilometres of the Channel Tunnel to England before the first morning train reaches them.
