About this work
According to the Festival d'Avignon programme, Yahia Yaïch, a political ruler, learns from television that he has been dismissed and has lost all his absolute power. According to Al Jazeera Net, he is placed under house arrest, and according to Fabienne Darge in Le Monde, his fall leads to a nightmare of indictment. Around him a long-muzzled press, the officials he created and a people with a numbed conscience, caught between courage and cowardice, are trapped in an individual and collective nightmare. Jalila Baccar told Le Monde that Jaïbi wanted the play to be the trial of Ben Ali while she wanted to try the whole population for its amnesia and apathy, and the play became a mixture of both.
به نوشتهٔ برنامهٔ جشنوارهٔ آوینیون، یحیی یعیش، فرمانروایی سیاسی، از تلویزیون می‌شنود که برکنار شده و همهٔ قدرت مطلقش را از دست داده است. به گزارش الجزیره‌نت، او در بازداشت خانگی قرار می‌گیرد و به گزارش فابین دارژ در لوموند، سقوطش به کابوس محاکمه‌ای می‌انجامد. پیرامون او مطبوعاتی که سال‌ها دهانشان بسته بوده، مقام‌هایی که خود ساخته و مردمی با وجدان خواب‌زده، میان شجاعت و ترس، در کابوسی فردی و جمعی گرفتار می‌شوند. جلیله بکار به لوموند گفته است که جعایبی می‌خواست نمایش محاکمهٔ بن علی باشد و او می‌خواست کل مردم را برای فراموشی و بی‌تفاوتی‌شان محاکمه کند، و نمایش آمیزه‌ای از هر دو شد.
