Ten

The film is made of ten scenes, all inside a car that a woman (Mania Akbari) drives around Tehran, with two fixed cameras on her and her passengers. They include her young son Amin, who argues with her about her divorce, her sister, an old woman on her way to pray, a sex worker and other women; their conversations build a picture of women's lives and family ties. Ten premiered in competition at Cannes on 20 May 2002. It was released with Abbas Kiarostami credited as director, but since 2020 Mania Akbari has disputed his role and the source of the footage.
