About this work
Two young women, both named Marie, decide that since the world is going bad, they will go bad too. They con middle-aged men into buying them dinner, disrupt a nightclub, cut each other to pieces with scissors and finally wreck a banquet laid out for officials. The film was banned from screens and export in Czechoslovakia for its critique of censorship and patriarchy, and has recently been restored in 4K with the National Film Archive in Prague.
