About this work
Mahin Sadri and Hassan Madjooni, the two actors who played a young couple in Dance on Glasses more than a decade earlier and have since separated in life, meet again in a Tehran dubbing studio to re-voice the old recording for a DVD release. Footage of the original production plays on a screen while they sit at two separate tables facing the audience and speak the lines, until it is no longer clear whether the words belong to the play or to their own shared past. According to Mehr Theatre Group's website, the piece was co-produced with Festival actoral in Marseille and La Bâtie - Festival de Genève.
مهین صدری و حسن معجونی، دو بازیگری که ده‌دوازده سال پیش در «رقص روی لیوان‌ها» نقش زوجی جوان را بازی کرده بودند و خود نیز از هم جدا شده‌اند، در یک استودیوی دوبله در تهران دوباره به هم می‌رسند تا روی فیلم آن اجرای قدیمی برای نسخهٔ دی‌وی‌دی صدا بگذارند. تصویره‌ای اجرای قدیم روی پرده پخش می‌شود و آن دو پشت دو میز جدا رو به تماشاگر می‌نشینند و دیالوگ‌ها را می‌خوانند، تا جایی که دیگر روشن نیست سخنانشان از متن نمایش است یا از گذشتهٔ مشترک خودشان. به نوشتهٔ وب‌سایت گروه تئاتر مهر، این اثر با همکاری جشنوارهٔ اکتورال مارسی و جشنوارهٔ لا باتی ژنو ساخته شد.
