About this work
Endless Vision is the live recording of a joint concert by Hossein Alizadeh and the Armenian duduk master Djivan Gasparyan with the Hamavayan Ensemble, held in September 2003 in the gardens of Niavaran Palace in Tehran. Alizadeh plays the six-string shurangiz instead of the tar, and Persian singing on poems by M. Azad and Rumi is woven together with Armenian and Azerbaijani melodies and songs, including Sari Galin and Gasparyan's own Mama. The ensemble's women singers, Afsaneh Rasaei and Hourshid Biabani, sing alongside the men, which delayed the album's release in Iran by about two years. Hermes Records issued it in Iran in February 2005 and World Village in the US in 2006, and it was nominated for the Grammy for Best Traditional World Music Album.
«به تماشای آب‌های سپید» ضبط زندهٔ کنسرت مشترک حسین علیزاده و ژیوان گاسپاریان، استاد دودوک ارمنی، با گروه هم‌آوایان است که در شهریور ۱۳۸۲ (سپتامبر ۲۰۰۳) در باغ کاخ نیاوران تهران برگزار شد. علیزاده در این برنامه به‌جای تار، شورانگیز شش‌سیم می‌نوازد و آواز ایرانی بر شعره‌ای م. آزاد و مولوی با نغمه‌ها و ترانه‌های ارمنی و آذری، از جمله «ساری گلین» و «ماما» از ساخته‌های گاسپاریان، درمی‌آمیزد. افسانه رسائی و هورشید بیابانی، خوانندگان زن گروه، در کنار مردان می‌خوانند و همین موضوع انتشار آلبوم در ایران را حدود دو سال به تأخیر انداخت. آلبوم را هرمس در بهمن ۱۳۸۳ (فوریهٔ ۲۰۰۵) در ایران و ورلد ویلج در ۲۰۰۶ در آمریکا منتشر کردند و نامزد جایزهٔ گرمی بهترین آلبوم موسیقی سنتی جهان شد.
