About this work
La leyenda del tiempo is the tenth album by the Gitano flamenco singer Camarón de la Isla and his first without Paco de Lucía, produced by Ricardo Pachón and released by PolyGram in 1979. Most of the lyrics are poems by Federico García Lorca adapted by Pachón, and Camarón's voice is set beside the guitars of Tomatito and Raimundo Amador with Jorge Pardo's flute, sitar, electric guitar, bass, drums and keyboards; it also includes Kiko Veneno's rumba Volando voy. According to the newspaper Público, the album sold poorly at first and shops sent copies back because they did not consider it flamenco; it later came to be seen as the turning point of nuevo flamenco.
«افسانهٔ زمان» دهمین آلبوم کامارون د لا ایسلا، خوانندهٔ کولی فلامنکو، و نخستین آلبوم او بدون پاکو د لوسیا است که در ۱۹۷۹ با تهیه‌کنندگی ریکاردو پاچون در پلی‌گرام منتشر شد. بیشتر ترانه‌ها بر شعره‌ای فدریکو گارسیا لورکا است که پاچون آن‌ها را تنظیم کرد، و آوای کامارون در کنار گیتار توماتیتو و رایموندو آمادور با فلوت خورخه پاردو، سیتار، گیتار برقی، باس، درامز و کیبورد آمده است؛ رومبای «پرواز می‌کنم» (Volando voy) از کیکو ونِنو نیز در آن است. به نقل از روزنامهٔ پوبلیکو، آلبوم در آغاز کم فروخت و مغازه‌ها نسخه‌هایش را پس می‌فرستادند چون آن را فلامنکو نمی‌دانستند؛ اما بعدها نقطهٔ عطف «فلامنکوی نو» شناخته شد.
