About this work
A nearly three-hour journey across the Soviet Union built entirely from forgotten archive footage shot by a group of Italian filmmakers between 1970 and 1973. Moving from Moscow parades to Siberian mines, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Ukraine and the Baltics without any voiceover, it reveals the diversity of peoples the Soviet state tried to make uniform. It won Best Film at the 2026 London Film Festival.
