About this work
Davoud Soulan is a contract teacher at a school in a poor village in southeastern Iran, hoping for a permanent government post. When the benefactor who paid for the children's free lunches dies and his heirs stop the funding, pupils stop coming and the school faces closure. Davoud moves into the school with his mother and turns to fuel smuggling to keep the meals going, and his good intentions become tangled with moral compromises. The film won Best Film at Busan 2026.

داوود سولان معلم قراردادی مدرسه‌ای در روستایی فقیر در جنوب‌شرق ایران است و امید دارد استخدام رسمی شود. وقتی نیکوکاری که ناهار رایگان بچه‌ها را می‌پرداخت می‌میرد و وارثانش کمک را قطع می‌کنند، بچه‌ها دیگر به مدرسه نمی‌آیند و مدرسه در خطر تعطیلی است. داوود با مادرش در مدرسه ساکن می‌شود و برای تأمین غذا به قاچاق سوخت رو می‌آورد، و نیت خیرش کم‌کم با سازش‌های اخلاقی گره می‌خورد. فیلم برندهٔ جایزهٔ بهترین فیلم جشنوارهٔ بوسان ۲۰۲۶ شد.
