About this work
Havana, 1961. After the Bay of Pigs invasion, Sergio's wife and parents leave for Miami, but he, a comfortable would-be writer living off his rents, stays. He wanders the city, watches people from his balcony, pursues women, including a teenage girl named Elena, and observes the revolution with detachment until the October missile crisis of 1962 closes in. Adapted from Edmundo Desnoes's novel, the film blends fiction with documentary footage, and it was restored in 4K by the Cineteca di Bologna in association with the Cuban film institute ICAIC.
هاوانا، ۱۹۶۱. پس از حملهٔ خلیج خوک‌ها، همسر و پدر و مادر سرجیو به می‌امی می‌روند، اما او، روشنفکری مرفه که از اجارهٔ املاکش زندگی می‌کند و آرزوی نویسندگی دارد، می‌ماند. سرجیو در شهر پرسه می‌زند، از بالکن خانه‌اش مردم را تماشا می‌کند، با زنان، از جمله دختری نوجوان به نام النا، رابطه برقرار می‌کند و انقلاب را با فاصله و بی‌اعتنایی نظاره می‌کند تا آنکه بحران موشکی اکتبر ۱۹۶۲ فرا می‌رسد. فیلم که از رمان ادموندو دسنوئس اقتباس شده، داستان را با تصاویر مستند درمی‌آمیزد و سینماتک بولونیا با همکاری مؤسسهٔ سینمایی کوبا (ICAIC) آن را با کیفیت 4K مرمت کرده است.
