About this work
In an Andalusian village, a mother who lost her husband and elder son to a blood feud with the Félix family sends her surviving son to court a young woman. The Bride was once attached to Leonardo, a Félix now married with a child. On the wedding night she flees with Leonardo into the forest and the Bridegroom pursues them; the Moon and Death, as an old beggar woman, preside over their fate, and the two men kill each other.
