About this work
A theatre company is rehearsing a Pirandello play when six unfinished 'characters', a grieving family, burst in. Abandoned by their author, they demand that their painful story be staged, including the stepfather's encounter with his stepdaughter in a brothel and the deaths of two children. The clash between the characters and the actors who would play them questions the boundary between reality and theatre, and the ending is left suspended between life and performance.
گروهی بازیگر در حال تمرین نمایشی از پیراندللو هستند که شش «شخصیت» ناتمام، یک خانوادهٔ سوگوار، ناگهان وارد صحنه می‌شوند. نویسنده‌شان آن‌ها را رها کرده و اکنون می‌خواهند داستان دردناکشان، از جمله دیدار پدر و دخترخوانده در خانه‌ای بدنام و مرگ دو کودک، روی صحنه اجرا شود. کشمکش میان شخصیت‌ها و بازیگرانی که می‌خواهند نقش آن‌ها را بازی کنند، مرز واقعیت و نمایش را به پرسش می‌گیرد و پایان آن هم در ابهام میان زندگی و بازی رها می‌شود.
