About this work

An English morality play (related to the Dutch Elckerlijc) in which Death, sent by God, summons Everyman. He asks his companions, Fellowship, Kindred and Goods, to go with him and all abandon him; only Good Deeds stays with him to the grave. A plain, powerful allegory of a person's final reckoning.
