About this work

The first album of the Chavosh series, recorded in 1977 at Bell Studio, revisiting the tasnifs of Aref Qazvini with Shajarian's voice and the Sheyda Ensemble. The Chavosh institute was founded by Lotfi and Hossein Alizadeh with members of the Sheyda and Aref ensembles; its later albums of 1978–79 were largely patriotic and revolutionary songs. Be Yad-e Aref is one of the few purely artistic records in the series.
