About this work
Taghi, a timid, indebted village postman in northern Iran who also serves in the landowner's household, suffers from impotence and endless humiliation; when the landowner's Western-educated nephew returns to start a pig farm and seduces Taghi's wife, he is driven to madness and murder. A free adaptation of Büchner's Woyzeck, restored in 2025 from prints held by Arsenal in Berlin.
تقی، پستچی کم‌رو و بدهکاری که در روستایی در شمال ایران نوکر خانهٔ ارباب هم هست، از ناتوانی جنسی رنج می‌برد و دامپزشک و ارباب مدام تحقیرش می‌کنند؛ وقتی برادرزادهٔ فرنگ‌رفتهٔ ارباب برای ساختن خوک‌دانی بازمی‌گردد و همسر تقی را فریب می‌دهد، تقی به جنون و قتل کشیده می‌شود. اقتباسی آزاد از «ویتسک» بوشنر که در ۲۰۲۵ با نسخهٔ بازمانده در آرشیو آرسنال برلین مرمت شد.
