About this work
Tarabnameh is a long musical comedy Bahram Beyzaie wrote in 1994, built on the traditional takht-e hozi (ru-hozi) form of popular comic theatre. Beyzaie staged it in two long parts with a cast of thirty-seven, including Mojdeh Shamsaie and Afshin Hashemi, at De Anza College in spring and autumn 2016. It follows a hadji setting out to sell his servant who meets a condemned poet, a young lover and banned troubadours along the way; its use of the traditional Siah character also drew critical debate.
طرب‌نامه نمایش موزیکال و خنده‌آور بلندی از بهرام بیضایی است که در ۱۳۷۳ نوشته شد و بر پایهٔ سنت نمایش‌های تخت‌حوضی ساخته شده است. بیضایی آن را در دو بخش طولانی با سی‌وهفت بازیگر، از جمله مژده شمسایی و افشین هاشمی، در بهار و پاییز ۲۰۱۶ در کالج دی‌انزا به صحنه برد. داستان حاجی‌ای است که به راه می‌افتد تا نوکرش را بفروشد و در راه با شاعر، عاشق و مطربان روبه‌رو می‌شود؛ استفاده از شخصیت سیاه در این اجرا بحث‌های انتقادی هم برانگیخت.
