About this work
A three-screen video and performance work by Abbas Kiarostami: the central screen shows a staged Ta'zieh, while two larger flanking screens show the faces of its village audience. The focus falls less on the play than on the spectators, whose relaxed chatter gradually turns into deep emotional absorption. It was presented at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and later at venues such as the Sackler Gallery in Washington.
اثری ویدیویی‑اجرایی از عباس کیارستمی که اجرای یک تعزیه را روی پردهٔ میانی و چهرهٔ تماشاگران روستایی آن را روی دو پردهٔ بزرگ‌تر در دو سو، هم‌زمان نشان می‌دهد. نگاه اثر بیش از خودِ نمایش بر واکنش تماشاگران است که از گفت‌وگوی آرام آغاز می‌شود و تا همدلی عمیق پیش می‌رود. این اثر در مرکز پمپیدو پاریس و در مکان‌های دیگری چون گالری سکلر واشنگتن به نمایش درآمد.
