About this work

Haj Ghorban Soleimani (1920-2008) was the best-known bakhshi, a bard of North Khorasan who sings poetry and stories in several languages while accompanying himself on the two-string dotar. This album, made with his son Alireza, brought the tradition to international listeners; UNESCO inscribed the music of the bakhshis of Khorasan on its intangible heritage list in 2010.
