About this work
A filmmaker in search of a subject secretly films Haji Agha, a wealthy traditional man who scorns cinema, while a missing watch and Haji's suspicion of his servant drive the plot. In the end Haji watches the film and comes to value cinema; this silent comedy is the oldest surviving Iranian fiction feature.
کارگردانی که دنبال سوژه است، پنهانی از حاجی‌آقا، مردی ثروتمند و سنتی که سینما را تحقیر می‌کند، فیلم می‌گیرد و ماجرای گم شدن ساعت حاجی و بدگمانی او به خدمتکارش داستان را پیش می‌برد. در پایان حاجی فیلم را می‌بیند و به ارزش سینما پی می‌برد؛ این کمدی صامت قدیمی‌ترین فیلم بلند داستانی بازمانده از سینمای ایران است.
