Challenges of Tradition and Modernity in Several Contemporary Iranian Short Stories

This is a scholarly article or essay examining the relationship between tradition and modernity in Iranian short fiction. It analyzes six short stories drawn from the collection Beshno az vay chon hekayat mikonad, written respectively by Shahrnush Parsipour, Mansur Kushan, Moniru Ravanipur, Amirhasan Cheheltan, Asghar Abdollahi, and Jafar Modarres Sadeghi. The six works, including titles such as Bag-e Farrokhlqa, Konizu, and Shazde Kuchulu, are examined for how they portray tradition and modernity as forces in tension, opposition, or intermingled coexistence within the Iranian short story form.
