A Psychological Reading of the Theme of the Story The Jackdaw's Summer Based on Jung's Individuation Process

Summer of the Swallows, a novel by David Almond, was translated into Persian in the 1980s during a period of growth in children's and young adult literature translation. The work explores adolescent violence and how young people are shaped by their environment. Using various symbols, Almond portrays the crises of adolescence and, through contrasts and contradictions, creates conditions for his characters to achieve cognitive maturity by finding balance. The research examines how Jung's individuation process can illuminate the psychological development depicted in the narrative.
