This Persian novel follows Ali Shidaifar, a twenty-year-old grieving the death of his younger brother Mohammad, an event that has devastated him and his family and pushed him toward depression. When Arash, a young man his age who has recently become their neighbor, gradually deepens his friendship with Ali, Ali's older friends Amir and Mehrdad grow suspicious of the relationship, which Ali initially regards as merely emotional. Through this connection, Ali experiences events that ultimately transform his life in lasting ways.
