این مقاله به بررسی ژانر گفتاری «آرزو» می‌پردازد که آن را یک رویداد ارتباطی احساسی و اراده‌محور تلقی می‌کند. معنای این ژانر ابراز آرزوی تحقق چیزی نیک یا بد برای کسی است. از لحاظ گرامری، این ژانر نوعی حالت فعل است که «تمنایی» نام دارد. این یک عمل گفتاری است که وضعیتی را توصیف می‌کند و دربردارنده واکنش احساسی فرد است. واکنش مخاطب نسبت به آرزوی نیک معمولاً از طریق کلمات یا اشاره‌های سپاسگزاری بیان می‌شود.
The paper deals with the speech genre “wish” treated as emotional and volitive communicative event, its meaning is an expressed wish of implementation of something good or bad for somebody. Grammatically, this genre is a kind of mood named “optative”. It is a speech act describing a certain situation which implies an emotional reaction of a person.
