About this work
Soug-e Siavash is based on the story of Siavash from the Shahnameh and is structured in the style of naqqali, set in a coffeehouse. This play was the first Iranian production to be staged outside Iran after 1357, and it was met with great enthusiasm in Paris, Cologne, Berlin, and Frankfurt. In France, in addition to the UNESCO hall, it ran for five nights at the Théâtre de Paris, with a full house every night. Its most recent performance was given last year by students of the Owrang Institute in Sacramento and Fresno. First edition 1369, Center for Performing Arts; second edition 2025, Owrang Publications.
«سوگ سیاوش» بر پایه داستان سیاوش شاهنامه و بر شیوه نقالی استوار است و در یک قهوه‌خانه می‌گذرد. این نمایش نخستین نمایش ایرانی است که پس از ۱۳۵۷ در خارج از ایران به صحنه رفت و در پاریس، کلن، برلین و فرانکفورت با استقبال فراوان اجرا شد؛ در فرانسه علاوه بر سالن یونسکو، پنج شب در تئاتر دو پاری روی صحنه بود و هر پنج شب سالن پر شد. واپسین اجرای آن را سال گذشته هنرجویان بنیاد اورنگ در ساکرامنتو و فرزنو داشتند. چاپ نخست ۱۳۶۹، مرکز هنره‌ای نمایشی؛ چاپ دوم ۲۰۲۵، انتشارات اورنگ.
