Semantic Transformation of Reason and Love in Persian Narrative Poetry and Contemporary Interpretation (Ferdowsi, Nezami, Rumi)

This is a scholarly article that examines the concepts of reason and love as they appear in three major works of Persian literature: the Shahnameh, the Panj Ganj, and the Masnavi. Taking an interdisciplinary approach that draws on both literary analysis and philosophy, including cognitive psychology, the article traces how the meanings of these two terms shift and evolve across the three works. Through comparative content analysis, it also asks why the two concepts are treated differently in discourse versus in practice. The findings address how Ferdowsi, and implicitly the other authors, define and bound, or expand, these ideas in their respective texts.
