About this work

This is a ghazal, a lyric poem, from the Divan-e Shams, the collection of lyric poetry by Molavi. The poem depicts a small gathering of two or three intoxicated figures singing together in a corner, evoking an atmosphere of mystical joy and companionship through the imagery of music, wine, and ecstatic togetherness that characterizes much of Molavi's lyric work in this collection.
