This book discusses the largest private book collection of the pre-Ottoman Arabic Middle East for which we have both a paper trail and a surviving corpus of the manuscripts that once sat on its shelves: the Ibn ʿAbd al-Hādī Library of Damascus.
این کتاب به بررسی بزرگترین مجموعه کتابخانه خصوصی شناختهشده در خاورمیانه عربی پیش از دوران عثمانی میپردازد که هم اسناد مکتوب از آن در دست است و هم شماری از نسخههای خطی آن تا به امروز باقی ماندهاند. این مجموعه کتابخانه ابنعبدالهادی دمشق است. نویسنده با تکیه بر مدارک تاریخی و نسخ خطی برجایمانده، تصویری از این کتابخانه و جایگاه آن در تاریخ فرهنگ کتاب در جهان عربی ارائه میدهد.
